Where do I begin with this blog?!
First of all, if you haven’t put it together yet, Warrior is my horse who I have had since I was 8 years old, and is the man behind the business name “Warrior Prints”. He has been the best companion to me for 19 years and I honestly do not know what I would do without my Warrior Prince! Growing up with horses my whole life, I can safely say there are not many horses that I fully trust. Warrior is not one of them. Literally a bomb could go off beside him and he would stay munching away at the grass. He wouldn’t intentionally hurt anyone (and yes there are horses that do! Trust me!) and I have no hesitations letting other people to be safely around him.
With that being said, I knew the moment I started up my photography business I wanted him to be a unicorn! I literally bought the horn only a few weeks after getting my camera in the winter, knowing I wouldn’t be able to start until the summer.
I had to test run this unicorn idea before offering it to the public so I asked my wonderful NEIGH-bours (sorry I had to!), if they would come and be my models to make sure everything would run smoothly. We learned that Warrior does not like flowers in his mane and tail, and he likes to eat THE WHOLE TIME! But we managed and got some great shots and I was so surprised/grateful for the attention they received.
I realized I cannot do these on my own for 2 reasons. 1) Safety, and 2) Warrior likes to be a pig and eat so I need someone who could hold his head up and jump out of the shot when need be! My sister Jessie and boyfriend Ben have been instrumental in these sessions as I cannot do 10 things at once! So thank you!
Okay enough babbling. Here are only a few of the many magical pictures that I was able to capture on my fist Unicorn weekend.
Thank you to all the beautiful princesses who came out to meet Warrior the Unicorn! He loved spending his birthday weekend (August 1st was his 21st birthday!) with each one of you!
If you missed out on these unicorn sessions, don’t worry! Keep an eye on my page where I will be posting more unicorn sessions to come during the Fall and Winter months!
