It was such an honour being asked to photograph Cassy and Ronny’s wedding! Cassy and I met while teaching in Jamaica 5 years ago! Where did those 5 years go?! We were bunkmates in our house there, and after graduation, I haven’t seen her since. When she reached out to me about doing the photos, I was thrilled just to see her again. This was the farthest I have had to travel for a wedding so far, but it was well worth it because it was simply AH-MAZING! The venue, the vibe, everything was just right on point. Holland Marsh Wineries in Newmarket sure knows how to dress up a winery, and Cassy and Ronny’s extra touches made it that much more stunning.
This was the first time I met Ronny and instantly I knew we were going to capture some great groomsmen photos. He and the groomsmen had the same personality as me and they all trusted me to boss them around. But before the ceremony started, Ronny’s family all travelled from China and they had a traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony. Cassy and Ronny were able to greet each others families before the wedding ceremony, which was a very special touch to the day.
After the tea ceremony, lawn games were enjoyed by both the bridal party and guests, and then the wedding ceremony began. The outside venue where these two lovebirds said their “I do’s!” was perfect! Also, I have to mention that one my favourite parts of this whole day was that the dogs were the ring bearers!! So sweet!
After the ceremony, traditional bridal party and family photos were taken, but also Cassy and Ronny enjoyed a little quiet time together being Mr. and Mrs. I have said this before and ill say it again, it is SOOO important to leave that extra half hour to one hour time when you can just be with each other. These (along with the many other important aspects of your big day) are the moments you are going to want to hang up on your walls. Although we only had a sliver of light to work with for sunset photos, the storm did not start until later in the night which we were all thankful for!
The rest of the night was filled with speeches, dancing, roasting marshmallows and the best part…a surprise firework display organized by Ronny! It was spectacular! As soon as they were done, the skies opened up and the rain started. We couldn’t of asked for better timing!
Thank you Ronny and Cassy for trusting me with your special day! It was so great to spend it with you all! Best wishes! xoxox
