Steff and I have been friends ever since she and I met at Queen’s Teachers College in 2012. When she reached out to me to be her photographer, I was ecstatic! I love being able to catch up with old friends I haven’t seen in years, spend the most important day of their life with them and also be able to provide them with the best wedding present ever—photographs to treasure for years to come!
I have never been to Isaiah Tubbs Resort in Picton, but I have heard about it before. I walked up to what I thought was the bridal suite, and thought to myself “wow they have the party really pumping over here”. It turns out it wasn’t the suit at all. It was someones house located right next to the resort! After informing them that I may be back later to party it up, I finally found Stef in a quaint little cottage. Her and her one and only member of her bridal party, the maid of honour and best friend, were getting finishing touches on their hair and makeup and they couldn’t of looked more stunning.
The ceremony was right on the beach underneath a huge tree. Ben and I felt as if we were shooting a wedding on the beaches of Jamaica! The resort offers a few different locations to get married at, another being a gorgeous pavilion where we took the family photos. Ben and I get to shoot another wedding there this coming summer which is exciting! After the ceremony and portraits, guests were seated in one of the resorts halls for a yummy dinner.
I have to say, the feeling of having a destination wedding right here in Ontario without the cost of travel, was awesome.
Stef and Darren, we wish you all the best in the future!!
Enjoy!
