With wedding season starting up for us this weekend, I figured it was a great time to post another blog from one of last years weddings (I know, I know, I am behind!) This wedding was such a blast to do because it was my good friend Nikki and her now husband Nick’s, big day!
Nikki and I met playing ball hockey in 2017 and quickly became friends. We bonded over our love of hockey as we met virtually every week to play both ball hockey in the summer and also hockey in the winter (we were typically the only two girls playing with the pick up mens league-girl power!) Through our many change room conversations, we discussed photography and I was so happy to hear that when Nick proposed to Nikki they wanted me to capture their engagement and wedding day! These two were an absolute blast to have behind my lens even though they stated they were awkward with photos (I will let the photos speak for themselves and say that they were 100% NOT awkward!)
Their wedding was held at Doghouse Studios in Napanee, a venue in which I have never been before. The ceremony, reception and outdoor space allowed for a variety of options for anyone wanting to get married there. The ladies got ready in a beautiful room right on site. Although it was raining, the venue was all ready to go with an indoor set up and we didn’t let it stop us from getting some adorable photos with umbrella’s outside. The groomsmen definitely summoned their inner Mary Poppins for the photos. 🙂
It is weddings like this one where I absolutely love doing what I do because I get to hang out with friends on one of their biggest days of their lives and be able to provide them with lasting memories of it. I even handed off my camera to a willing guest to snap a photo of us four!
Congratulations (still!) Nikki and Nick and I cannot wait for your next adventure to begin (if only he would hurry up and get here already!! <3 )
